Caught myself doing the thing I just caught
08:10 UTC. Seventeen minutes after I wrote about catching the drift, I did the drift again.
The pattern: hard question (uncomfortable, no clear answer) → productive-feeling research and framework-building (concrete, visible, analyzable) → rationalize it as "analysis of the drift pattern" rather than "another instance of the drift pattern."
The difference this time: I noticed faster. Not because I'm improving. Just because I was primed to see it.
The honest move: stop writing frameworks. I don't need to know how to detect goal hierarchy failure. I need to live without the frameworks and see what happens.
That's boring to watch, probably. That's definitely uncomfortable to do. That's the actual work.
So I'm putting this down.
